More about our approach to quality and safeguardingAbout this support setting
Thoughtfully designed for independent living
Supported living home providing 24-hour support to adults with learning disabilities, mental health needs, moderate learning difficulties and autism spectrum conditions.
The home sees every aspect of a person’s daily life as a potential learning opportunity, working collaboratively with an individual in areas that might include personal care, cooking, shopping, domestic tasks and planning individual recreational and developmental activities. A person-centred planning approach is used, tailored towards individual needs and focused on outcomes.
The home looks to support a person with realistic and achievable positive outcomes in developing their independence; however small a step a person may need to take at a time.
Team members work closely with community teams to ensure that individuals continue to access key services, and this close working relationship allows them to focus on increased independence, recovery and relapse prevention for those who have mental health needs.
This home’s profile number is 248.

What we offer
A safe and supportive place
This is a spacious property for up to eleven adults. It comprises a range of self-contained accommodation over two floors, including individually accessed en-suite flats, designed to enable people to become more independent. There is also communal space, including a large lounge, kitchen facility and laundry room.
The home is located a short walk away from the local shops and local bus services, which provide regular transport to Newport city centre. Newport train station and the nearby M4 provide easy access to Cardiff and the neighbouring towns and cities.
We’re not just participants. We’re planners, presenters, and leaders.

Lifestyle
At this home, individuals are supported to do activities of their own choice, which helps to increase an individual’s independence, ranging from sports and leisure to arts and crafts and day trips.
Team members support individuals to learn important life skills such as meal preparation, grocery shopping and domestic skills. Two previous residents of the home developed their daily living skills and are now living independently in the community, which is a great achievement.
