Co-production in recruitment

At Achieve together, co-production means working in true partnership with the people we support — and that includes recruitment. We’re committed to ensuring they are involved at every stage of the process, helping shape how we hire and who we hire.

We work closely with our Unity team to make sure people we support have a genuine say in who joins their home. From reviewing job documents to taking part in interviews, they help select the right team members — the people they feel comfortable and confident with.

As a candidate, you’ll have the opportunity to meet the people you may support, hear their views, and begin building real relationships from day one.

FAQs

How do I apply?

Take a browse through our vacancies and apply to any that catch your eye. You will be taken to a short registration page – simply input your details and CV and we will be in touch.

How will I know you have received my application?

Once you have completed your online application, you will receive an automated acknowledgement that your application is in process.

I’ve applied. What happens next?

If your application is successful, we will be in touch to arrange an initial telephone interview (these usually last around 15 minutes). During this call we will discuss your application in more detail and answer any questions you may have. We will then invite you to a face-to-face interview if we feel you’d be a good fit for the role and if you’d like to proceed.

I haven’t worked in care before. Can I still apply to be a support worker?

Absolutely. Although it would be beneficial to have some experience, it isn’t absolutely necessary as we provide full training. As long as you’re passionate, hard-working and empathetic, you’ll fit right in.

Do I need to have a driver’s license as a support worker?

Not necessarily, though it will depend on the vacancy. Some positions will allow you to walk or use public transport while at work and to commute.

What hours will I work as a support worker?

Working hours vary between homes and services. We also try to be as flexible as possible to suit individual preferences and circumstances. We will ask you about your availability during the interview process, to ensure we accommodate you as best we can.
