Autism support that starts with understanding

We support autistic people – including those with learning disabilities and complex neurodiverse needs. From communication and sensory differences to social anxiety and self-expression, we tailor support to each person’s individualised needs and requirements.

Autistic, neurodiverse, unique – we get it

We support autistic people, as well as those with complex neurodiverse presentations such as:

  • Learning disabilities
  • Demand avoidance
  • Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
  • Autistic catatonia
  • Co-occurring mental health
  • Sensory considerations

However someone experience’s the world, we focus on their strengths, talents and goals – not just the challenges.

Real-life support, rooted in your reality

Support is shaped using our ‘Wheel of Engagement’ – a framework that helps us understand every part of a person’s life:

  • Low-arousal, capable environments
  • Strengths and talents first
  • Relationships, identity and social connection
  • Personal safety and independence
  • Gender and sexuality support
  • Communication and sensory differences
  • Meaningful engagement based on interests
  • Trusting, consistent relationships

Led by autistic voices. Guided by best practice.

Our autism support and team training are shaped by Simon Tobin, our Autism Ambassador and Trainer. As an expert with lived experience and a valued member of the Achieve together team, Simon plays a key role in guiding best practice across the organisation.

Simon ensures our approach is practical, respectful, and aligned with the Oliver McGowan Training – the new standard in autism learning and awareness.

We understand anxiety, shutdowns and trauma

Many autistic people experience overwhelming stress, shutdowns, or trauma-related behaviours. Our Positive Behaviour Support team works proactively – using non-aversive, least-restrictive strategies to create calm, supportive spaces.

Positive Behaviour Support focuses on building life and coping skills and enhancing the person’s quality of life.

Many people we support have moved from secure settings to independent lives reducing dependency on paid support.

Support in your own home

We support people in supported living, residential homes or through outreach support across England and Wales.
