About this home

Thoughtfully designed homes for independent living

Welcome to Albion Road, a residential home supporting seven adults diagnosed with autism spectrum conditions, learning disabilities and complex needs, including challenging behaviors, epilepsy and mental health needs. With people supported currently aged between 53 and 70 years old, we provide personalised support to help people supported develop person-centered plans aimed at enhancing choice, control, and independence in their lives.

At Albion Road, our mission is to empower people supported to lead active and fulfilling lives. Our ethos revolves around empowerment, engagement, and the promotion of independence. We collaborate closely with various health and social care colleagues, including Learning Disability Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Positive Behavioral Specialists, Speech and Language Therapists, advocates, and more, to ensure comprehensive support tailored to individual needs and focused on both short and long-term outcomes.

Our dedicated team members build strong relationships with people supported, families, and professionals to develop individualised plans that meet specific needs and goals. With team members available 24 hours a day, including waking night support when required, we provide round-the-clock assistance to ensure the well-being and safety of all people supported.

Lifestyle

At our home, our primary goal is to support individuals in maintaining and identifying social and leisure activities that bring joy and fulfillment to their lives. With numerous local groups catering to people with disabilities in and around the Sutton area, people supported have ample opportunities to get involved in the wider community.

We encourage people supported to participate in various social groups and activities, including visits to the inclusion center, workouts at the David Weir gym, movie nights at the cinema, BBQs, bingo sessions, in-house keep fit sessions, arts and crafts, and days out to the seaside. Additionally, people supported enjoy cycling, participating in national celebrations, and listening to 70’s and 80’s music.

Here, we prioritise maximising engagement and ensuring that people supported are empowered to pursue their interests and desires. Whether it’s taking trips into town, assisting with daily tasks such as cooking, washing, and cleaning, or enjoying other activities at home, we strive to create an environment where people supported feel supported and valued.
