What we offer
A safe and supportive place to call home
The Ridge is a fully adapted environment with 12 en-suite bedrooms, with a lift allowing access to all floors. The property also features multiple communal spaces so people can socialise if they wish, including a living room, dining room and a specially adapted kitchen. There is a large garden where social events and activities are held, especially in the summer.
Warm and homely The Ridge is situated in the seaside town of Hastings, a couple of miles drive to the seafront and town centre. There are good links to a wide range of local community facilities as well as good links into central London and the surrounding coastal towns.

We’re not just participants. We’re planners, presenters, and leaders.

Lifestyle
People at The Ridge are very sociable and enjoy activities together. People living here love to celebrate, and birthdays are celebrated with house parties. Although this is a sociable home, it is a generally calm environment with moments of busyness, which can get noisy. People communicate in a variety of ways at The Ridge, including speech, Makaton, and sensory touch.
The experienced team at The Ridge support people to lead active lives, taking part in meaningful social and leisure activities in order to increase confidence and communication skills. These include daily life skills such as meal preparation, grocery shopping, cooking and domestic skills. People are also supported to take part in leisure activities such as gardening, cinema trips, theatre trips, meals out, day trips and any other activities they want to enjoy.
We also support people to obtain education and/or work placements in order to maximise their independence. We have supported people into paid employment such as gardeners, and receptionists.
