About this home

Oakview is a residential home for adults with severe learning disabilities, Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities, restricted mobility, sight impairment and epilepsy. The home aims to support individuals in achieving their goals, participating in meaningful activities and becoming as independent as possible.

Oakview provides care in a person-centred way so that care is tailored towards the individual. People are supported and motivated to lead a fulfilling lifestyle, building on important life and social skills.

What we offer

At Oakview, all bedrooms are on the ground-floor and can be decorated to individual tastes and needs. They all have their own en-suite wet rooms. There are communal areas, including a living room, kitchen and dining area, and a fully equipped sensory room.

There is a garden which is fully wheelchair accessible with raised planters so individuals can enjoy gardening and spending time in the garden. There is also a swing and patio area for barbecues and social events in the summer.

Lifestyle

At Oakview, we prioritise supporting people to engage in a diverse array of activities. From swimming and college outings to holidays and indoor sessions like pet therapy, aroma therapy, sensory room experiences, music, and cooking sessions, we cater to various interests.

Our commitment to inclusivity ensures that wheelchair users receive the necessary support to participate in any chosen activity. Additionally, we’ve embarked on an exciting project, transforming our outdoor space into a sensory haven with carefully selected flowers and plants. This new area promises enriching sensory experiences and activities, allowing everyone at Oakview to connect with nature when the weather permits.
