The Grove is specialist residential home supporting adults with moderate to severe learning disabilities, autism spectrum conditions, mental health needs, epilepsy, restricted mobility, complex health needs, and dysphagia.

Driven by a commitment to fostering independence and community integration, our outcome-focused approach empowers individuals to make decisions about their care and support. We collaborate closely with healthcare professionals like Llearning disability nurses, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, as well as advocates, to craft personalised plans geared towards short and long-term outcomes. Our dedicated team, available 24/7, including waking night support, ensures holistic care tailored to each individual’s unique needs.

The Grove offers a spacious and inviting semi-detached home nestled in a residential area in Sutton. Boasting eight bedrooms across three floors, residents benefit from shared communal spaces including a kitchen, living room, and dining room, fostering opportunities for social interaction.

A highlight is the expansive private garden, perfect for social activities and relaxation. Situated just a 5-minute walk from Sutton High Street, people supported have easy access to a plethora of amenities including shops, restaurants, pubs, cafes, the Cheam Leisure Centre, Empire Cinema, and the St Nicholas Way shopping centre. Excellent transport links, including bus routes and train services to central London, further enhance the convenience and accessibility of The Grove’s prime location.

Lifestyle

At The Grove, individuals engage in a diverse array of leisure activities, including swimming, bowling, music sessions, sensory experiences, visits to day centers, and horseback riding. Additionally, people supported enjoy a variety of in-house activities such as arts and crafts, puzzles, bingo, karaoke, and themed evenings like takeaway nights. The community also organizes exciting day trips to destinations like Kew Gardens, London Museums, and Brighton Aquarium, fostering a vibrant social atmosphere.

The Grove actively participates in national celebrations like Black History Month, Bonfire Nights, and Halloween, often organizing local BBQs to connect with neighboring homes and foster new friendships. Our support extends beyond leisure, focusing on increasing individual independence. Remarkable progress has been witnessed, such as one individual overcoming social anxiety to enjoy outings with flatmates, attend health appointments independently, and embark on holidays to Bognor Regis and Centre Parks.

Moreover, people are supported to pursue their passions and interests, with one person supported regularly volunteering at Deen City Farm since 2015, reflecting our commitment to empowering individuals to lead fulfilling lives and contribute to their communities.
