More about our approach to quality and safeguardingAbout this home
Thoughtfully designed homes for independent living
Cheam Road is a 24-hour residential home supporting adults with autism spectrum conditions, moderate learning disabilities, mental health needs and complex needs, including behaviours that others may find challenging.
The home provides support to develop individualised plans that promote increased choice and independence whilst focusing on recovery and relapse prevention. We follow an active, person-centred approach which supports the individual to make choices and achieve their planned outcomes.
We work closely with community teams to ensure that individuals continue to access key services and appointments, and close working relationships enable us to focus on increased independence and recovery.

What we offer
A safe and supportive place to call home
Cheam Road is a warm and homely house with six bedrooms, an annexe in the garden, two en-suite bathrooms, and shared bathrooms. There is also a communal area for when people want to socialise with others, including a living room, dining room, kitchen, conservatory and a large garden for leisure activities.
The home is situated in Sutton, approximately a 10-minute walk from the town centre, where local shops, restaurants, pubs and other community facilities can be accessed. Cheam Road is close to Sutton mainline stations and bus services, providing good links to local areas and central London.
We’re not just participants. We’re planners, presenters, and leaders.

Lifestyle
There is a mix of personalities at Cheam Road; everyone gets on well, but some prefer socialising more than others. This a homely home, and anybody living here would never feel alone. The home is full of love and care.
With lots going on such as music, dancing and socialising sometimes it can get noisy. Equally, people living here enjoy their relaxation time, and there are periods of quietness. No two days are the same. At Cheam Road, people are supported to identify and participate in meaningful activities that develop social, communication and life skills. These range from support in daily life skills and leisure activities such as shopping and household chores through to college placements, voluntary work experience, paid work placements and social and leisure activities.
Examples of activities people have participated in include gym sessions, Zumba, yoga and aqua aerobics, trips to the pub, activity clubs on Tuesdays and Thursdays, meals out, shopping and trips to the cinema.
