About this home

Thoughtfully designed homes for independent living

This is a small but spacious supported living home set in a rural location within Essex for up to three adults. People we support are living with autism spectrum conditions, mild/moderate/severe learning disabilities, deafness, deafblindness, communication difficulties, behaviours that others may find challenging and profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD).

Our experienced and highly trained team empowers people we support to become more independent in their everyday lives. Using a person-centred plan for each person, we work with them to develop their daily living skills and work towards their goals.

We see every aspect of a person’s life as a potential learning opportunity – and a chance to celebrate their achievements.

This home’s profile number is 539.

People live independently, enjoy their own company and have strong relationships and interactions with team members.

There are two bedrooms with en-suites in the main home, a self-contained annexe in the rear garden and a spacious communal lounge area for people to enjoy watching TV and relaxing. This home also boasts a large garden where team members encourage socialising and get-togethers.

Situated close to the local woodland areas, Chelmsford City Racecourse, and local shops and cafes,  Great Notley Country Park is nearby too.

The support team here have access to a home-owned vehicle, which enables people to get out and about to local shops, cafes and leisure activities.

Lifestyle

We support people to maximise their independence – enabling them to enhance their social and communication skills so they can do more for themselves.

We use the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) to support people in expressing themselves in their unique ways.

We support people to transition into adult life with minimised barriers. The aim is to support people with greater independence: we support people with meal preparation, grocery shopping, self-care, and budgeting support them to develop the skills they need to achieve this.

As this is a small home, the team provide a wide range of tailored support to meet the needs of those living here.
