Thoughtfully designed for independent living
Domiciliary Care North West is a domiciliary outreach service that cares for people with learning disabilities, mental health needs, acquired brain injury and restricted movement within their own homes and in specialist-supported living homes across the Manchester area. People are supported through a person-centred planning approach, which is tailored towards individual needs and focused on outcomes.
Each person is encouraged to take part in meaningful activities in order to enrich their lives and increase their independence. Additionally, people are supported to identify and maintain any education placements, volunteering and/or work experience. Skilled team members work with individuals, healthcare professionals and family members in order to provide the best care and support.
Due to the complex needs of those we support, our teams are specifically recruited and trained to provide tailored support for each person. This means we build our team around people’s individual needs and also encourage the person, their family and any support networks to take part in recruitment. We provide continuity and consistency of support by experienced support team members with designated key workers.

What we offer
A safe and supportive place
Domiciliary Care North West has a range of supported living homes in and around Manchester. These homes have a range of facilities, from small to large, depending on individual preferences.
Team members are available 24 hours a day, including waking nights when required. All homes are ideally located near to community to facilities so people can easily engage with the wider community. The Manchester area has multiple shops, restaurants, pubs, cinemas and other amenities for people to explore. There are also great transport links such as train stations and buses so travel into surrounding areas is easy.
We are able to offer direct support accessing independent accommodation by supporting individuals to:
- Source appropriate accommodation
- Maximising benefits to secure accommodation
- Liaise with registered social/private landlords
- Complete tenancy sign-up

Across all our supported living homes people are supported to lead active lives and take part in a variety of activities both within their community and at home. These activities aim to increase social and communication skills as well as give each person more confidence and independence. Examples of leisure activities that people often take part in include swimming, day centre activities, bowling, gardening, cinema and theatre trips, music sessions, day trips and holidays.
People are also supported with increasing confidence with the development of life skills, such as meal preparation, budgeting, self-care and cooking, so they can become more self-sufficient with a view of moving on to more independent living. People will also be supported in identifying and maintaining any education, paid work and/or volunteering they wish to.
