About this support setting

Thoughtfully designed for independent living

Apple Tree House is a residential home in Burnham-on-sea that supports adults with learning disabilities, autism spectrum conditions and complex needs, including behaviours that might challenge.

The home has an extremely friendly and family-orientated approach, which creates a very warm and welcoming environment.  People are supported to develop person-centred plans that promote increased choice, control over their lives and increased independence skills whilst focusing on a Positive Behaviour Support approach to reduce everyday anxieties. People will also be supported in taking part in a variety of activities that enrich their lives both in the home and in their community.

Independently Audited : September 2025

“Appletree House Care Home demonstrated a compassionate and person-centred approach, with a clear focus on residents’ individual needs and preferences. Our review identified opportunities to strengthen staff development, streamline documentation practices, and further embed quality assurance processes. With targeted support, the service has the potential to build on existing strengths and enhance outcomes for the people it supports.”

Lifestyle

We support people to plan and organise their own activity timetables and take part in activities that develop social, communication and life skills. These range from support in daily life skills such as shopping through to college placements, voluntary and paid work placements and leisure activities.

People are encouraged to express their rights freely and become contributing members of the community. In our experience, this helps to increase social and emotional wellbeing.
