Our commitment to quality

Quality isn’t only something we measure – it's something we live, every day.

At Achieve together, we’re proud to provide safe, person-centred support that helps people live happy, healthy and meaningful lives. We put quality at the heart of everything we do – and we never stop improving.

A culture of safety

Safety always comes first.

We’ve built a strong, proactive culture where safety is everyone’s responsibility – and where both team members and people we support help shape how we learn and improve.

Key features of our approach include:

  • Openness and transparency when learning from events.
  • Clear reporting and investigation, with outcomes shared and acted upon.
  • Shared responsibility for risk, supported by our internal experts.
  • Risk Enablement Panels (REPs) - ensuring people are supported to live safely and independently, in the least restrictive way.

Meeting and exceeding regulatory standards

We’re proud of our strong performance across England and Wales:

At Achieve together, we’re proud to provide safe, person-centred support that helps people live happy, healthy and meaningful lives.

We’ve also embraced the CQC’s new Single Assessment Framework (SAF) – an approach that aligns closely with our values and person-centred ethos.

Our SAF approach includes:

  • Training for more than 90% of our team members
  • Workshops for operations managers focused on the lived experience of care
  • Values-led alignment with: Being brave, having fun, making things happen and valuing everyone

Our Wheel of Engagement ensures we deliver holistic, person-centred support – helping us continually improve quality, outcomes and lived experience.

Through our Unity and Campaign 4 Change groups, people we support lead campaigns, raise awareness and work in partnership to make decisions – inside and outside the organisation.

Co-production is embedded in how we work. Unity representatives now attend board meetings, contributing to our governance and work in partnership as specialists to guide and make changes across the organisation.

Continuous improvement, built in

We regularly review and refine how we work – through robust audits and independent oversight.

Here’s how we stay on top of quality:

  • Internal audit processes aligned to current regulation.
  • Simplified home manager audits to reduce duplication and free up time.
  • Independent audit benchmarking through an external research organisation.
  • Every Visit Counts – a feedback process that strengthens our governance.

Investing in training and expertise

Our teams are the backbone of the great support we provide to people – so we make sure they have the tools, skills and support to succeed.

Key programmes include:

  • Oliver McGowan training to support people with autism and learning disabilities.
  • In-house Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) training through PASS+PORT™.
  • STOMP (Stopping Over-Medication) guidance shared through our Medication Matters conference.
  • Quality of Life reviews that go beyond basic compliance checks.
  • Brilliant Basics Bite Sized Modules – providing easy access to resources and good practice tips for team members who manage and lead teams.

Smarter systems, safer support

We’ve partnered with RADAR, a digital platform that helps us manage risk effectively and spot patterns early.

It allows us to:

  • Record all risk-related events in one universal system.
  • Share best practice across homes and services.
  • Move away from paper-based forms for better insight and responsiveness.
  • Analyse data to mitigate future risk and support continuous improvement, enabling a better quality of life for people supported.

Culture of Co-production

We work in partnership with people we support to ensure people have a say about the way we run our organisation and the important decisions that impact on people's support. Our co-production group Unity is involved in various workstreams across our organisation, partnering with our teams to ensure the culture of co-production.

What quality looks like in action

Our achievements reflect the care, effort and commitment of our teams:

  • 100% CIW compliance in Wales.
  • 92% of families say their loved one feels safe.
  • Ongoing reduction in restrictive practices through our PBS approach.
  • Co-production Big Plan.

Looking ahead: quality without compromise

We’re always looking to improve – simplifying systems, investing in digital tools and reducing duplication to free up time for what matters most: people we support.

By embedding co-production, learning and innovation across Achieve together, we’re helping set a new standard in the care sector – one that others can follow, and families can trust.
