Following its latest Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection, the South Hill service has achieved a Good rating for Safe, a significant improvement from its previous inspection, and is now rated Good across all five assessment areas: Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-led.

This achievement reflects the hard work, dedication and professionalism of our team members, who are committed to helping people live safely, independently and with confidence every day.

Inspectors recognised the positive outcomes experienced by people we support and highlighted the home’s strong approach to safeguarding, risk management and person-centred support. The report found that people were kept safe by team members who understood their responsibilities to protect people from harm and abuse and who supported people to take positive risks while maintaining their independence and quality of life.

The report also praised the home’s caring culture, noting that people are treated with kindness and respect, supported to achieve meaningful goals and aspirations, and encouraged to be active members of their local community.

Feedback from relatives was particularly positive, with one family member telling inspectors:

“I have found many team members to be kind, patient and respectful, and I appreciate the efforts made by the service to help [my family member] maintain their independence while remaining safe.”

Inspectors also highlighted improvements in leadership, support and communication, with team members speaking positively about the culture within the service.

This achievement belongs to every team member who works tirelessly to support people to live the lives they choose, as well as people we support and their families, whose trust, feedback and partnership help us to continually improve.

A huge congratulations to everyone involved on this well-deserved recognition.
