Michelle wins our July award for the incredible dedication she has shown to her role and Starboard House for the past 22 years. Practice Lead/Senior Support Worker Cerys Powell, who nominated Michelle, says: “I have personally never had a better manager in any job I have been in.”
Cerys particularly highlights Michelle’s ability to run a safe and happy home which benefits the people who live there, their family members and the team she manages. She says: “Michelle deserves so much recognition for her years here and the things she has done for everyone.”
Even when on annual leave, Michelle will keep in touch, answering queries and making sure the home is running smoothly.
The home received a CQC rating of Good in all areas in July 2023 and Michelle’s success is down to long experience and hard work. “Not everyone gets to see what goes on behind the scenes when it comes to running Starboard House. In my two years of being a senior I have caught a glimpse of the effort Michelle puts in and I have never met anyone like it,” says Cerys.
Michelle comments: “It’s a brilliant feeling to be nominated for this award by a team member as you work so closely with them every day and go through all different types of challenges and achievements with them. So, for someone to recognise your hard work is a great feeling.
“I love my team and everyone I support and have worked with some of them for over 20 years. So to now be nominated for something like this when I am just doing what I’ve always done makes you realise how much your team notice you and I really appreciate it.”
