About this home

Starboard House is a residential home providing support to seven adults with moderate learning disabilities, autism spectrum conditions and epilepsy. The people who use our service require 24-hour support in a safe environment, which encourages and promotes people to gain confidence in their lives and promotes decision-making and choice, which is individualised.

Starboard House is responsive to the changing needs of the person as well as enabling them to maintain the stability of their life. The home supports those with learning disabilities but also has an in-depth understanding of autism, health-related conditions, complex needs, physical disabilities, and mental health needs.

What we offer

The property comprises a large detached Georgian property with an open-plan detached bungalow to the rear. To the front of the property, there is parking, and the rear garden is divided into a patio area and lawn.

On the ground floor, there are two single bedrooms, a lounge, a dining room, a separate toilet, a kitchen, an office and a wet room. The first floor consists of 4 single bedrooms, a second wet room, a bathroom, two toilets, a separate toilet and a sleep-in room. There is a detached bungalow in the garden, which has an open-plan lounge, a single bed, a kitchenette and a shower with a water closet. The main bus route to Southampton City is close to the home.

Lifestyle

Starboard House supports individuals to become more independent and build on their social and communication skills through taking part in a variety of social and leisure activities.

Some examples of activities include gardening, day centre activities, engaging with the local community, meals out and the gym. Residents at Starboard House are especially keen gardeners, winning the Achieve together gardening award last year.
