Thoughtfully designed homes for independent living

Wilbury Gardens in Hove, East Sussex, is a specialist residential home providing 24-hour support for up to eight deaf and/or deafblind adults, supporting people with diverse needs, including learning disabilities, physical disabilities, mental health challenges, autism, and dementia. The home’s person-centered approach prioritises individual choices and independence, enabling people supported to participate in cooking, home management, and local community groups. Each person supported has a dedicated team member to support personal goals, create tailored activity plans, and maintain family and social connections.

What we offer

A safe and supportive place to call home

Wilbury Gardens is a spacious, three-storey home in Hove, East Sussex, with eight bedrooms, including washbasins, multiple bathrooms, an open-plan living and dining area, conservatory, additional lounge, kitchen, and laundry facilities. The lovely garden is used for relaxation and herb gardening, supporting a warm, community atmosphere.

Activities at Wilbury Gardens are abundant, from social events to complementary healthcare like massage and reflexology. Tailored for d/Deaf adults, all staff are BSL-certified and trained in d/Deaf awareness, ensuring people supported preferred communication styles, with interpreters arranged for external appointments.

At Wilbury Gardens, our compassionate team supports people to live life to the fullest by encouraging participation in activities aligned with their interests and goals. We create tailored support plans through collaboration with individuals, families, and professionals, focusing on each person’s needs and aspirations. People supported engage in activities like volunteering at local centers, teaching, or visiting loved ones. Our home emphasises a person-centered, active support culture, where everyone has a say in daily life, supported by a team trained in British Sign Language (BSL) and deaf awareness.
