About this support setting

Thoughtfully designed for independent living

Whitehatch is a residential home for adults with learning disabilities, mental health needs, autism spectrum conditions, mobility issues and complex needs, including epilepsy. People are supported with person-centred plans that aim to increase independence and are focused on positive outcomes. Team members help individuals to achieve their goals no matter how small and see every aspect of their lives as a potential learning opportunity.

Team members work closely with the individual, families and healthcare professionals in order to provide the best care possible. All individuals have comprehensive activity plans which ensure that they have meaningful sessions in and out of the home that can help them access the community and build on skills.

Lifestyle

People at Whitehatch are supported to take part in a variety of activities that can build on their social skills and confidence. Each person has a daily activity planner created specific to the individual based on their likes and dislikes. We provide Intensive interaction for communication, cookery sessions, music sessions, exercise classes, holistic therapy and arts and crafts.

We also provide daily wheelchair exercise routines to help people maintain good circulation and health. Other regular sessions that take place at the house include aromatherapy, reflexology and cooking.

‘Us in the Bus’ is a company that specialises in Intensive Interaction, and they come to the service on a weekly basis to interact with residents.

People are supported to actively participate in the wider community. They go swimming, play bingo, access the gym, go to the cinema and shopping and attend church every Sunday.
