Thoughtfully designed for independent living
Watery Lane Cottage in Bath is a specialist residential home, providing 24-hour one-to-one support for three adults who are deafblind, with additional complex needs, such as physical and learning disabilities. The home focuses on person-centred support, fostering meaningful and independent lives while addressing each individual’s unique communication needs. It offers a supportive environment for long-term residence or transitional support to greater independence.

A safe and supportive place
Our fully accessible bungalow at Watery Lane Cottage offers three en-suite bedrooms equipped with specialist facilities like walk-in showers and hydraulic baths. The open-plan living space leads to a garden with a patio, vegetable beds, and a summer house. Located within Poolemead House’s grounds, residents have access to shared amenities, including a jacuzzi and coffee lounge. Twerton offers convenient local facilities and frequent bus services to central Bath, providing easy access to shops, restaurants, and transport links.

At Watery Lane Cottage, each person supported has a tailored support plan that reflects their unique needs, goals, and preferences. The team uses various communication methods, including the Deafblind Manual Alphabet and tactile boards, to empower people to make choices about their daily lives. People supported are encouraged to develop independence and engage in enriching activities like woodwork, horse riding, and art. The team also supports them in enjoying outings, holidays, and other meaningful experiences, fostering a vibrant and fulfilling lifestyle.
