About this support setting

Thoughtfully designed for independent living

The South West supported living home is a specialist outreach service in Bath. We support adults who are deaf, deaf/blind or hard of hearing with additional complex needs such as learning or physical disabilities, autism and mental ill-health.

Our domiciliary care and supported living team support people to live independently in their own community. We take pride in encouraging people we support to take charge of their own personal development and provide an environment in which they can have fun and learn skills that will enable them to live independently.

What we offer

A safe and supportive place

We provide a range of supported living accommodations plus structured support, all tailored to the needs of the people we support. We have properties in the Twerton area of Bath that suit people who need more support. Our team is based in our offices nearby and visits at agreed hours during the day, with sleep-in team members at night.

Our properties share accommodation and have two bedrooms, a kitchen, dining area, lounge and bathroom, as well as outdoor spaces for relaxing.

Our properties are close to local facilities, including our Educational Day Services and are an easy bus ride from the centre of Bath. We work closely with local housing associations and may be able to support people to secure a tenancy for their own flat and provide the support they need to maintain it.

We’re not just participants. We’re planners, presenters, and leaders.

Lifestyle

We never see being deaf as a barrier to living a full and enriching life. Our team empowers people we support to do daily tasks for themselves as independently as possible, supporting them where and when they need it. Everything we do is tailored to the people we support – including the way we communicate with them.

Whatever a person’s interests, abilities and goals, we can support them in developing their social skills to learn how to cook or manage money. We can also help the people we support to find work or go to college.
