What we offer
A safe and supportive place
Sheringham House is a large, detached property. There are five bedrooms on the ground floor and five on the first floor, all with an en suite bath, wet room or shower. There is also a communal bathroom on the ground floor with a bath lift for people with mobility issues. Outside, there is a very large, level garden with lawns, a sensory garden, an activity cabin, and a vegetable patch, along with a trampoline and swings. It has a homely atmosphere, with communal spaces including a lounge and dining room where people can socialise if they wish.
Sheringham House is a five-minute walk from various shops, local cafes, and pubs and is close to bus routes.
The main train station is around two miles away, and Gravesend is conveniently located for travel to London, with the East End around 25 miles away and central London approximately a one-hour journey by car or train. Sheringham House has its own MPV seven-seat vehicle as well as a disabled access car, which is able to take a wheelchair user and three other people.
We’re not just participants. We’re planners, presenters, and leaders.

Lifestyle
Sheringham House offers a range of different activities that focus on increasing the independence of the individual. People are supported to use the house’s onsite garden and vegetable patch, and some individuals have managed to prepare a whole meal out of the vegetables they have grown on site. Staff will also assist people in developing independent living skills such as cooking, budgeting and meal planning.
Other activities individuals are able to participate in include baking, swimming, hydrotherapy, reflexology, arts and crafts, day centre activities, entertainers, theatre trips, and public transport days.
