Life at Meesons Lodge is shaped by choice, shared experiences and opportunities to build confidence. It is a Specialist home supporting people with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD).

At home, people can enjoy arts and crafts, film and games nights, karaoke, sensory stories, Friday takeaways and monthly music therapy. ZooLab visits offer the chance to meet small animals, while the sensory projector provides fun and engaging experiences. People also enjoy cooking and days out to the seaside, zoos, aquariums and the Christmas pantomime.

In warmer weather, everyone can spend time in the garden and choose what to grow in their own space. The annual barbecue brings people, families, friends and the team together to relax, connect and celebrate each year.

What we offer

A safe and supportive place

Meesons Lodge offers comfortable and accessible living spaces designed to support people with a range of needs. The home has 12 en-suite bedrooms, spacious communal lounges, a fully equipped kitchen, a sensory room and a dedicated craft hub where people can enjoy creative activities. The home is wheelchair accessible throughout, with a lift providing access to all areas.

Outside, there is a large garden with space for relaxation, socialising and growing plants.

Meesons Lodge also has a transport vehicle for trips and days out, satellite TV and Wi-Fi for the people we support, helping everyone stay connected and enjoy a wide range of activities both at home and in the local area.

Meesons Lodge is set in a quiet estate near Grays town centre, with local shops and amenities nearby. Lakeside Shopping Centre is around 10 minutes away, with a range of shops, restaurants, a cinema, bowling and other leisure activities.

People can also visit Grays Library to choose books, use computers and join activities, or explore local history at Thurrock Museum. Nearby parks and riverside routes provide peaceful places for walks, picnics and time outdoors.

Other attractions include Tilbury Fort, Coalhouse Fort Park, Chafford Gorges and RSPB Rainham Marshes, where people can enjoy exhibitions, scenic trails, wildlife watching and opportunities to spend time in nature.
