What we offer
A safe and supportive place
Rochester House is a spacious, detached Victorian home with 10 bedrooms, eight of which are fully wheelchair accessible. People we support can spend time together in the large communal lounge, enjoy meals in the dining room and get involved in preparing food in the adapted kitchen. The garden and outside space offer somewhere to enjoy fresh air, while the summerhouse/conservatory provides a place to unwind. The home has a ground-floor wet room, a lift serving the first and lower ground floors, and a stairlift. On the first floor, there are seven bedrooms and two bathrooms, one with an adapted bath and hoist facilities.
On the lower ground floor, people we support can use the activity room for individual activities, quiet time or meetings. The well-equipped sensory room offers a space to explore lights and music or enjoy aromatherapy and reflexology sessions. Both rooms give people different ways to spend their time, guided by their interests and preferences.
We’re not just participants. We’re planners, presenters, and leaders.

Lifestyle
Based in Rochester, Rochester House gives people easy access to everyday amenities and enjoyable days out. The historic high street is ideal for browsing independent shops, stopping for a drink or meal and enjoying the town’s character. Nearby green spaces, including The Vines and Churchfields, offer peaceful places for walks, picnics and fresh air.
Rochester’s history provides plenty to discover. People can explore the castle and cathedral, learn about local life at the Guildhall Museum, or follow links to Charles Dickens, who spent part of his childhood in Medway and drew inspiration from Rochester’s buildings, places and people for several of his stories.
Rochester railway station and local bus services make it easy to reach nearby towns, shopping centres, leisure activities and destinations across Kent, supporting greater choice and varied days out.
