What we offer
A safe and supportive place
Old Street is a bungalow with five ground-floor bedrooms and wet rooms. There is additional communal space for when people want to socialise with others, including a living room, dining room and fully equipped kitchen.
The home also has its own sensory garden and a large outside space for people to enjoy in the summer. Old Street also has its own people carrier to take people on any day trips they wish to go on.
Old Street is located near Fareham and is therefore close to the beach and within walking distance of local bus services, so people can access community facilities such as shops, pubs, restaurants, libraries and colleges.
We’re not just participants. We’re planners, presenters, and leaders.

Lifestyle
Old Street is a home full of action and activity. The home is filled with the hustle and bustle in the morning as everybody gets ready for their big days ahead, with activities such as pub lunches, shopping, exploring the local village, drives to the local coastline and tea and cake at local cafes. The home benefits from access to its own vehicle, which can carry people using a wheelchair. Not only is it busy out of the home, but there are daily activities people enjoy within the home. There are always arts & crafts to make, as well as a reflexology professional who visits regularly.
People are supported to be more independent, with many people obtaining volunteer work or paid work placements. Examples of this include two people who obtained paid employment as gardeners and one individual who is paid to work at Head Office in reception. Additionally, one person grew in confidence and, through staged desensitisation, overcame his phobia of blood tests and enabled the safe prescribing of his medication.
The home could be described as an environment with plenty of action and busyness, which means sometimes it can get noisy.
