About this support setting

Thoughtfully designed for independent living

Mays Lane is a specialist residential home in Stubbington, Hampshire, for adults with autism spectrum conditions, moderate to severe learning disabilities, complex needs including behaviours that may challenge, Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD), restricted mobility, sight impairment, hearing impairments, emotional needs and epilepsy.

With adapted living environments, including overhead hoisting, specialist bath/shower rooms and sensory rooms, people live an ordinary life with the best possible quality of life. Support is focused on the National Core & Essential PMLD Service Standards, which we helped to develop.

Our holistic model of support focuses on proactively meeting the complex communication, health and postural care needs of each person while also meeting their social, emotional and relationship needs. Our specialised Health & Wellbeing Team work directly with those we support and team members to achieve this.

What we offer

A safe and supportive place

Mays Lane is a bungalow with five bedrooms, all of which have en-suite washroom facilities and easy access to a communal wet room and large bathroom. The home also has a therapeutic hydrotherapy pool, multi-sensory room, communal living room, dining room, fully equipped kitchen and a garden.

Located in Stubbington near to the Hampshire coast, the home is within easy reach of the town centre and is a 5-10 minute walk from the seafront. There is access to a wide range of local facilities, including shops, pubs, restaurants, libraries and colleges. The nearby mainline stations and local bus services provide good links to Gosport and the surrounding coastal areas.

Lifestyle

At Mays Lane, people are supported to participate in a wide range of activities that all promote increased independence. These can be at home and or in the community and include meals and snacks out, aromatherapy, clubs, swimming, local walks, shopping, cookery, arts and crafts, music sessions, games days and day trips to local attractions.

People living here also use the multi-sensory room and the hydrotherapy pool for sensory sessions, which have been greatly beneficial.
