Thoughtfully designed for independent living

Little Orchard is a specialist residential home in Hordle, Hampshire, providing safe and supportive care for adults with autism spectrum conditions, profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD), epilepsy, communication and sensory impairments, and complex health needs. The home is fully adapted to meet the needs of people supported.

We focus on developing person-centred plans to enhance choice, control, and independence, with tailored health action plans addressing specific concerns. Our Clinical Team works closely with people living at Little Orchard to support their physical, emotional, and communication needs.

Accommodating up to five adults, Little Orchard offers en-suite bedrooms and a range of adapted vehicles for shared or individual use. We celebrate people supporteds’ achievements and milestones, symbolized by a butterfly-themed logo representing each person supported.

We are committed to promoting choice, control, and quality of life through personalized care plans and health support.

What we offer

A safe and supportive place

Little Orchard is a warm, homely residence featuring six fully adapted bedrooms designed for people with physical disabilities. Our dedicated support team ensures the highest level of care.

The home offers inviting communal spaces, including a large activity room, a lounge with a cinema screen and surround sound, and a modern kitchen/diner. The well-maintained garden, backing onto a field, provides a peaceful outdoor area for activities.

Located in the charming village of Hordle, Little Orchard is just a few miles from the New Forest and the coast, with easy access to nearby towns like New Milton. The home also has an adapted vehicle for convenient transportation.

The spacious garden is ideal for BBQs, family gatherings, and sensory activities, while the living room’s cinema-like experience, complete with a projector and glowing bubble tube, adds to the cozy atmosphere.

In 2023, Little Orchard received significant upgrades, including a state-of-the-art kitchen and a new adaptive bath in the communal bathroom. A display area in the corridor showcases the achievements and special moments of those we support, regularly updated to reflect their progress.

With excellent connections to Bournemouth, New Milton, Lymington, and Southampton, Little Orchard provides easy access to a variety of amenities and attractions.

Lifestyle

At Little Orchard, we support individuals in a variety of activities to enhance their social and communication skills and build confidence both at home and in the community.

People supported enjoy activities such as cinema trips, dining out, gardening, and swimming. Recently, a bubble therapy session was held, which was a hit with everyone.

We also host regular social events, including our annual garden party, which brings together families, team members, and neighbors for a day of celebration and community.
