Thoughtfully designed for independent living
Kingsdown is a residential home in Medway that supports adults with autism spectrum conditions, moderate learning disabilities, mental health needs, complex needs, including behaviours that may challenge and/or hearing impairments.
Kingsdown seeks to enable each person supported to have the opportunity to build meaningful and active lifestyles. We support people to engage with their environment and make choices about their lives. Each person has an individual support and health plan tailored around their likes and dislikes, and the experienced support team are happy to explore and organise other activities that people express an interest to try.

What we offer
A safe and supportive place
Kingsdown House has a total of nine bedrooms, with three en-suite bedrooms on the ground floor and six en-suite bedrooms on the first floor. There is also a communal bathroom on the ground floor with a bath, providing an alternative to en-suite wet rooms and showers.
There’s plenty of shared space, ideal for socialising, including a large lounge, music room, kitchen and dining room.
The home have built a cocktail bar called the ‘Outside Inn’ in the garden for everyone to use during the day, which also has its own pool table. The garden is large enough to host everyone, including team members in the summer.
Kingsdown House also has its own on-site gym for people to use with support. The gym is designed for use by all, regardless of abilities.
Strood town centre is about ten minutes walk from Kingsdown House. There is a bus stop nearby and a train station about a mile away.

Lifestyle
Kingsdown House supports people to take part in a range of in-house activities, including gardening, cooking, arts and crafts sessions, sensory sessions, games and puzzles, DVD nights and music sessions.
There are regular reflexology and chiropody sessions, and everyone enjoys using the Wii and Wii Fit and playing interactive games on the PlayStation 3.
People also take part in a wide range of activities in addition to learning new skills locally, which includes personal shopping and banking, visits to the library, to local restaurants and pubs and attending places of worship.
