More about our approach to quality and safeguardingAbout this support setting
Thoughtfully designed for independent living
Birmingham Road is a residential home in Sandwell supporting adults with learning disability and mental health needs.
People are supported by an experienced team to have maximum choice and control of their lives and are supported in the least restrictive way possible. The team are caring and compassionate and give people choice when choosing what activities they would like to do.
People, their relatives and healthcare professionals are fully involved in the planning for the most appropriate care and support, with support plans and risk assessments providing clear information and guidance on how the team can best meet each person’s needs. The team view the whole person, everything that makes up their identity, and makes sure information is made available in a format people can understand.

What we offer
A safe and supportive place
The six-bed home, which is a large Victorian three-storey terraced house, single occupancy rooms with full en-suite bathrooms and facilities include a communal lounge and kitchen. People are encouraged to decorate their rooms in their chosen colours and decide how furniture is arranged.
Our team offer person-centred care, and either has or is working towards additional qualifications.
Everyone in the home is given the support they need to manage/attend all healthcare appointments, access day centres, achieve outcomes, and get involved with both in-house and outdoor activities. The home has access to a vehicle to support with appointments and trips out.
We also offer sensory equipment, such as an Astro ceiling in the lounge, a cinema screen, animated pictures on the walls, UV light, and a bubble machine.
We’re not just participants. We’re planners, presenters, and leaders.

Lifestyle
Birmingham Road offers high-quality support in homely surroundings where everyone feels valued. People are encouraged to play an active role in life at the home and in determining their support.
Where people do not have the capacity to make decisions for themselves, then they are assisted to do so with their advocates and/or family members fully involved.
We aim to provide suitable recreation for everyone, welcoming and encouraging family members and friends to participate wherever possible, both in and outside of the home.
