About this support setting

Thoughtfully designed for independent living

Ashcroft provides specialist support for adults with learning disabilities, autism and other neurodivergent conditions. People may present with complex communication difficulties, sensory processing issues, behaviours which may challenge or secondary mental health conditions.  Situated in a quiet cul-de-sac in Chard, this small, highly specialised home offers high levels of support while enabling people supported to integrate into the local community. Tailored team members support ensures people can lead as full and active lives as possible.

What we offer

A safe and supportive place

Ashcroft includes a comfortable lounge/dining area, a fully equipped kitchen with an adjoining utility room, and an office area with a downstairs toilet. Upstairs, there are three bedrooms for people supported and a team member sleeping-in room, along with two bathrooms for people supported. The secure garden is split over two levels, featuring seating areas and flowerbeds. There is also a separate annex accessible through the rear garden, adaptable to meet the needs of people supported, with the potential to become a sensory room or second lounge area.

Ashcroft provides a stable and consistent environment where people supported can feel safe and secure, build self-esteem, and develop life skills to support independent living. The home is within walking distance of Chard town centre, offering local amenities such as health and leisure facilities, shops, and cafés. Located centrally between Taunton and Yeovil, Chard provides easy access to the M5, A303, and major bus and train routes to popular commuter areas.
