Celebrating Cornerleigh’s Good CQC rating
We’re delighted to share that our Cornerleigh home in Havant, Hampshire, has been recognised by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) for its positive culture and person-centred support, with a ‘Good’ rating from its previous ‘Required Improvement’ rating in its latest inspection.
Our Cornerleigh home provides supportive residential living for adults with learning disabilities, acquired brain injuries and physical disabilities. Receiving a ‘Good’ rating in May 2026, is a wonderful reflection of the dedication, care and teamwork shown by everyone at the home. Inspectors recognised the meaningful progress made, including stronger staffing arrangements and improved safeguarding processes.
Our team provides 24-hour support that helps the people we support to live as independently as possible and enjoy meaningful activities that matter to them. Inspectors praised Cornerleigh for delivering personalised, responsive care in a relaxed and welcoming home, where people are treated with kindness and respect and supported to express their individuality.
Families also shared lovely feedback as part of the inspection, reflecting the warm and supportive atmosphere at Cornerleigh. “It’s very welcoming here; the staff are lovely.” Another relative said: “Whenever I come, [relative] always comes across as happy.”
It’s encouraging feedback that shows people living at Cornerleigh feel settled, supported and happy in their home.
Zak Houlahan, Chief Executive of Achieve together, said:
“Achieving a Good CQC rating across every domain is a significant accomplishment and reflects the hard work, determination and commitment shown by everyone involved. Improvement of this scale does not happen by chance, it comes from strong leadership, clear standards and a consistent focus on delivering high-quality care and support. Home manager, Helen Judd and her team have demonstrated what can be achieved when there is a shared commitment to learning, continuous improvement and putting people first. Everyone involved should feel incredibly proud of this achievement, which is thoroughly deserved.”
Head of Area Operations, Sandra Whittington added:
“Moving from Requires Improvement to a Good CQC rating is a reflection of the dedication, resilience, and teamwork shown every day by the staff across the service. This achievement is a collective commitment of the team to delivering safe, compassionate, and high-quality care, and everyone involved should feel incredibly proud of what they have accomplished together.”
Registered Manager, Helen Judd said:
“I am so proud of my team and all who supported us to get our Good CQC. We have all worked so hard and it is great to see this has paid off, with such positive feedback from families, professionals and team members. Most importantly, the people we support feel happy and safe living at Cornerleigh, which is what we are all here for.”
