Achieve together Forensic Mental Health Team Wins Mental Health Nursing Award
We are proud to announce that our Forensic Mental Health Team has been recognised at the Nursing Times Awards, winning the Nursing in Mental Health Category.
The award recognised excellence in ‘Forensic mental health pathways for autistic people and adults with learning disabilities.’
At Achieve together, our mission is to support Ordinary Lives, Extraordinary People. This award is a wonderful reflection of the compassion, clinical excellence and dedication shown by our nurses, who go above and beyond every day to deliver person-centred, trauma-informed care.
Our Forensic Mental Health Team play a vital role in ensuring that people we support receive the highest quality of care, enabling recovery, independence, and wellbeing. Their expertise, empathy, and collaboration have strengthened our services, inspired colleagues, and improved outcomes for many across our organisation.
This recognition also highlights the teamwork and shared commitment that define Achieve together — where team members and leaders work together with one clear purpose: to ensure that everything we do delivers quality of life for the people we support, and that we do nothing about them, without them.
We extend our warmest congratulations and thanks to our outstanding Nursing Team for this well-deserved award — you truly embody what it means to be Extraordinary People.
We caught up with Kevin, Head of Forensic Mental Health after the award win. Here’s what he said;
“After a career spanning more than 40 years, it was a great honour to be recognised by peers at the Nursing Times. We were recognised for helping to achieve great outcomes for the people we support that have come into contact with the judicial system, and who would otherwise struggle to find accommodation and care solutions.
The award could not have been achieved without the input of Zoe Armstrong our Chief Care and Quality Officer, who allowed the freedom for innovation. Michael Fullerton for his years of experience, wise words, personal support and direction. Shirley Allmark for the tireless support she has given to the managers in developing support plans and therapeutic strategies, and finally to the Home Managers themselves, that have bought into the concept and seen the person behind the risk, ridden through the proverbial storm and facilitated a safe home for the person to flourish. My greatest achievement here is actually seeing them grow”.
