Women Achieving Greatness in Social Care

Tea at the House of Lords for Mary Woodall and Elmi Terjavjainen to celebrate the winners and finalists of the awards.

Mary Woodall, supported by Elmi Terjavjainen, went for tea at the House of Lords today. They are attending the Women Achieving Greatness in Social Care celebratory event together.

Mary is a member of Campaign 4 Change, Co-chair of Unity and an LDE Representative. Elmi is our Co-production Manager, and the two often work closely together. They joined advocates for social care, senior members from our sector, plus the winners and highly commended finalists from the 2022 Women Achieving Greatness in Social Care Awards – also known as WAGS!

The afternoon tea reception at Westminster celebrates the winners and finalists of the awards, honouring their dedication, tenacity and selflessness. It was hosted by Lord Palmer of Childs Hill.

Mary said: “It’s amazing to be representing Achieve together at such an important event. I’m so excited!”

Mary reports: “I was so lucky and fortunate to be able to take Emma’s place to go to afternoon tea at the House of Lords for the Achieving Greatness in Social Care Awards celebration. I was also lucky to have Elmi to accompany me.

We had a drink or two on the veranda, afternoon tea and a speech by Lord Palmer of Childs Hill himself. It was a wonderful afternoon. I felt like royalty and hope there are more high profile events to come.”
