Rivendell win The People’s Choice Award at the NLD&A Awards 2021

Congratulations to the Rivendell team who won The People’s Choice Award at the National Learning Disabilities & Autism Awards.

We are delighted to share that the Rivendell team based in the Wirral won The People’s Choice Award at the recent NDL&A Awards held in Birmingham.

The Award recognises the dedication the Rivendell Team have to the people they support. The team at Rivendell have been recognised for promoting independence and well-being by attending colleges, seeking employment, rebuilding family relationships and becoming actively involved in the local community.

Former Rivendell Manager, Kirsty Sudlow said:

“Being Rivendell’s previous manager it has been an absolute privilege to win this award. I still regularly visit the service and it will always have a place in my heart. Each staff member and of course the people we support have all shaped and developed Rivendell into what it is today”.

Some of those supported built their own activity planner for Christmas and one of the activities chosen was to help the homeless. They put together 26 shoe boxes filled with useful items and asked friends and family to contribute.

Another person supported struggled in his previous placements and the team at Rivendell received compliments from his parents as to the changes in this person’s attitude and lifestyle. As a result of this he was able to rekindle relationships with his family and now regularly visits them.

Kirsty said:

“The people supported at Rivendell are always at the forefront of the team’s minds and this is evident in their practice, attitudes and values. The quality of support is nothing short of outstanding and it’s a privilege to part of such a caring and dedicated staff. I am so proud of each person who contributed to Rivendell’s success and will always be proud of the amazing things they do for the people supported”.

Huge congratulations to you all, we are very proud of you.
