Gender and sexual identity support

Every identity respected. Every person supported.

At Achieve together, we support people to explore and express their gender and sexual identity safely, confidently and with dignity. Whether someone is transgender, non-binary, or exploring their sexual identity, we are here to listen, learn and provide thoughtful, person-led support.

We support the whole person – and identity is a big part of that

Gender and sexual identity are important, personal and unique. We understand that:

  • Some people we support are transgender or non-binary
  • Others may be exploring how they identify
  • Many may need help navigating emotions, relationships or changes
  • Everyone deserves to feel safe, seen and supported

We support people to express who they are, at their own pace

We offer a compassionate, confidential and person-centred approach that helps people:

  • Feel safe to talk about their gender or sexuality
  • Access the right information and support
  • Navigate name or pronoun changes
  • Understand gender expression and transition options
  • Build identity-safe environments in home and community life

We don’t make assumptions – we ask, listen and adapt.

Supporting identity means supporting the whole network

Exploring gender or sexual identity can affect relationships too – so we:

  • Offer guidance to families and friends
  • Encourage healthy, open conversations
  • Respect people’s right to privacy and self-determination
  • Provide resources and reassurance to everyone involved
  • Signpost to local LGBTQ+ support groups

Support isn’t just about the individual – it’s about the circle around them too.

They helped me understand – and now we’re stronger than ever.
