Ope is highly commended – her second accolade of the year

At the recent London regional Great British Care Awards, Home Manager Ope Oyinsan was Highly Commended for the Housing with Care Award

The Housing with Care Award recognises an individual or a team providing person-centered services to vulnerable people living in any kind of supported housing scheme. As the only finalist to be Highly Commended this category at the London Great British Care Awards, Ope narrowly missed out on winning.

This is Ope’s second award this year, as she scooped The Manager Award at the Bromley Adult Care Awards in June.

For the Housing with Care Award Ope had to demonstrate that she is meeting a range of complex care and support needs, including interacting with the local community. She also showed  that she is outcome-focused and driven to provide the highest quality service to people we support, supporting them to remain independent in their own home and as part of the wider community.

Full of gratitude

On receiving this commendation, Ope shared the following: “I am writing with a heart full of gratitude to express my appreciation for the incredible journey as a recipient of a highly commended mention in the Great British Care Awards. Being recognised among such dedicated caregivers is truly an honour. I want to extend my deepest thanks to everyone involved.

“This journey has been nothing short of transformative. To stand alongside passionate and committed team members who dedicate their lives to caring for people we support, is an experience I will forever cherish. The acknowledgment of ‘highly commended’ is a testament to the collective efforts of our team, whose unwavering commitment has created a positive impact on their lives.

“I want to express my gratitude to the Regional Manager and all the team at [the homes I manage] for their support, encouragement, and inspiration. Your belief in the value of supporting  people has fuelled my passion and determination to make a meaningful difference in the lives of people we support. Our collective efforts, no matter how big or small, have contributed to a brighter and more caring world.

“Thank you once again for this incredible honour.”

Regional Manager Nita Sohawon, who wrote the award nomination, said: “Congratulations Ope, very well deserved. You always work professionally with consideration to all, especially the people we support.”
