Northfield House in Ringwood rated ‘Good’ by CQC in all areas

Northfield House, a residential support home for people with learning disabilities, autism and complex needs in Ringwood, has received a full ‘Good’ rating in its latest inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). It’s the result of consistent care, strong leadership and a dedicated team.

In its April–May 2025 assessment, CQC inspectors praised the team at Northfield House for their person-led, inclusive and consistent approach. People supported shared how much they enjoy living at the home, taking part in activities, and making everyday choices. 

One person said: 

“I feel safe. The team take me to the seaside, to the pub, and I can choose what I want to eat.” 

Relatives also commented positively on the team’s warmth and responsiveness: 

“The whole team are a wonderful bunch of people. My relative is having a far better life there than I could ever provide.”

  • Strong systems around safeguarding, medicines and planning 
  • Clear leadership and strong team morale 
  • Access to a wide range of meaningful activities
