About this home

Uplands House is a residential home for adults with learning disabilities or mental health needs, plus additional complex needs. The home provides 24-hour care, including waking support.

A fully trained and specialist staff team is available 24 hours a day, with vehicles available to access community resources. Key workers work alongside the individual to create a person-centred support plan and associated risk assessments. The team are trained with Active support to ensure that the person is supported to develop to their full potential.

People living at the home are treated with dignity and respect. When speaking of their experiences of living at the home, one person told us that they were ‘comfortable’ and ‘very happy here’ and ‘loved the food and their room’. They confirmed to us that they were able to exercise their rights and choices in all aspects of their daily life. We were told ‘I feel I have control’ and that they could ‘talk’ to the manager and team members about any issues they may have and felt that they were treated with dignity and respect by team members.
