About this support setting

Thoughtfully designed for independent living

This is a bright, spacious and welcoming supported living home in Twickenham, Surrey, for up to six adults. People we support are living with autism spectrum conditions, moderate/severe learning disabilities, Down’s Syndrome, William Syndrome and complex needs.

Our experienced and highly trained team empowers people we support to become more independent in their everyday lives. Using a person-centred plan for each person, we work with them to develop their daily living skills and work towards their goals.

We see every aspect of a person’s life as a potential learning opportunity – and a chance to celebrate their achievements.

This home’s profile number is 684.

What we offer

A safe and supportive place

This feels like a family home. People we support get on well. There are six bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, and people we support like to cook together in the shared kitchen or relax and play games or watch TV in the communal lounge.

Situated close to the Twickenham Rugby ground and close to shops, cafes, restaurants, cinemas and bowling alleys, public transport links are excellent too. We’re close to the train station, plus bus services into Richmond, Kingston and Hounslow. There’s a local park nearby too, where people like to go for walks or picnics.

We’re not just participants. We’re planners, presenters, and leaders.

Lifestyle

We support people to maximise their independence – enabling them to enhance their social and communication skills so they can do more for themselves. The aim is to support people to move on to more independent living when the time is right: our sessions on meal preparation, grocery shopping, self-care and budgeting support them to develop the skills they need to achieve this.

Each person who lives at here has a detailed activity plan that’s personalised to their interests, goals and wishes. Some people like to go horse riding or attend different sports clubs, while others do courses at the local college. We also run regular activities, including arts and crafts and cooking, plus a variety of regular social events to which people’s family and friends are invited.

Team members will also support people in developing their life skills with the view to moving on to more independent living, such as meal preparation, grocery shopping, self-care and budgeting.
