About this support setting

Thoughtfully designed for independent living

This supported living home in Guilford supports five adults with mental health needs, moderate learning disabilities and emotional needs who need help and support with daily living needs and tasks.

People are supported to develop individually tailored plans that promote increased choice, control over their lives and independence whilst focusing on recovery and relapse prevention. Every aspect of a person’s life is seen as a potential learning opportunity. People are assisted in positive risk-taking, so they actively increase their confidence and move towards their goals in small, achievable milestones.

This home’s profile number is 316.

Lifestyle

Everybody is sociable within the home, and everyone enjoys each other’s company.  The home could be described as an outgoing but quiet environment with moments of liveliness and busyness.

People living here make full use of the local leisure centre and also engage in voluntary and paid employment. The team organised a range of activities for people who live here, designed to support increased independence and build on skills.

People are supported to go on trips, especially to the local leisure centre, where they can participate in bowling and swimming. They are also supported to participate in other leisurely activities such as arts and crafts, cookery classes, cinema and shopping trips.

People here also go to college and take on paid and/or voluntary work in order to integrate into the community and increase their independence.
