About this support setting

Thoughtfully designed for independent living

A specialist-supported living home in Epsom, the team based here provides support for three deaf and/or deafblind adults. People we support have a range of diverse and sometimes complex needs, including learning and physical disabilities and mental ill-health.

We provide housing-related support to help people live independently within a safe and relaxed environment. Our team is on-site daily from 8am–8pm and there is an out-of-hours service for emergencies. We use a range of appropriate communication techniques, always take a person-centred approach, and encourage positive risk-taking in all aspects of our care planning and review process. By doing this, we make sure that everyone is fully involved in their own support.

This home’s profile number is 914.

What we offer

A safe and supportive place

This home has three self-contained flats, each with its own sleeping area, bathroom and kitchenette/diner. The flats share a spacious communal lounge, which is a great place for chatting and relaxing together. There’s also a large garden.

The home is on the outskirts of Epsom, just a short walk from shops, cafés, pubs, churches and the library. There is an excellent bus service into Epsom and beyond, and the beautiful Epsom Downs are just a 10-minute drive away.

Lifestyle

The support team enables people we support to live as independently as possible, developing skills in day-to-day tasks and building confidence so people can stay fit and healthy, shop and cook for themselves, join groups in the community and even find a job. We also support people with housing-related issues, benefits and money management.

Everything we do is focused on the person, their interests, abilities and goals. We communicate with each person in their preferred way, and every person is fully involved in planning and reviewing their support.

Some supported have enrolled on college courses, found jobs and travel around the area independently visiting friends and family. Whatever they want to achieve, we support them to make it happen.
