More about our approach to quality and safeguardingAbout this support setting
Thoughtfully designed for independent living
This is a specialist Supported Living home for adults primarily with learning disabilities and mental health needs.
This home is a social home and the people supported here love to host an occasion. From summer barbecues to rugby days and larger events, there is always something being planned. Day trips are also a favourite whether it’s to the local Caerphilly Castle or further afield to Cardiff, Swansea or the Welsh coast. On quieter days the ladies supported here like to spend time in the garden where we have a greenhouse and all come together on a Sunday for a roast dinner.
This home’s profile number is 172.

What we offer
A safe and supportive place
Troed-y-Bryn is a spacious detached house for up to seven adults. All rooms have en-suite facilities, and people also have the opportunity to access communal space, including a kitchen, dining room, living room, and a garden.
Despite its size, it is still a cosy, warm, friendly and homely household. Troed-Y-Bryn is an all-female home. All the ladies get on well and interact positively.
The home benefits from an outlook onto the local park and fields, as well as its own garden, complete with a small greenhouse. People living here spend as much time as possible in the garden soaking in the sun and surrounding nature.
Troed-Y-Bryn is a calm and peaceful environment with a slower pace of life. The ladies living here are mature and enjoy a quiet environment. Visitors are always welcome!
We’re not just participants. We’re planners, presenters, and leaders.

Lifestyle
Located in the Penyrheol area on the outskirts of Caerphilly this home is close to all local amenities. There is a small parade of shops on the doorstep
including a hairdressers, pharmacy and local shop. There are good transport links with the train station close by and regular buses into Caerphilly where you can find a larger selection of shops, entertainment and leisure venues.
Although quiet and calm, the ladies love to keep busy and can often be found gardening, completing puzzles and painting. The activity doesn’t stop there as the ladies venture out to the local cinema, the coastlines, and of course, some shopping.
We support people to choose and take part in activities that develop social, communication and life skills. These range from support in daily life skills such as shopping or taking driving lessons through to college placements, voluntary work experience and paid work placements.
“In this home we regularly live by the philosophy, tomorrow is a new day, it’s never too late to start again.” Home Manager
“For the team it’s more than just a job, they go above and beyond” A person supported
