Penny Meadow Skills & Sensory Centre provides daytime services, including active and respite support for adults with learning disabilities and communication needs.
Our lively and active day service supports people to achieve the goals that matter to them.
We offer workshop-based learning at our centre in Colchester and through community-based activities in work experience, outreach, volunteering and other community-based projects.
Our team are experienced, knowledgeable and skilled Day Service Facilitators, providing small group-based learning or 1:1/2:1 support to individuals.
Penny Meadow is open Monday to Friday, 10am – 3pm. We offer a wide variety of activities and workshops throughout the week to build and develop skills that will support people to progress and develop life and work-related skills to support them to reach their goals.
Our Skills & Sensory Centre puts the people we support at the heart of what we do and offer each day. People accessing the centre are supported by the team to choose the workshops and sessions which best support them to achieve their set goals. Team members regularly hold ‘You Say, We Listen’ meetings with those we support to ensure they are able to put forward new ideas and activities and take a leading role in the future of Penny Meadow.
