About this home

Thoughtfully designed homes for independent living

Olive Lane is a specialist residential home, without nursing, in Halesowen, West Midlands, that supports eight adults who are d/Deaf, deaf/blind or hard of hearing. People we support also have additional needs such as mental ill-health, dementia, learning disabilities, physical disabilities or multiple complex needs.

Olive Lane is all about enjoying highly professional care and support in a family environment. Everything we do is tailored to each person’s needs, so we can provide a home for life or support a person to develop their skills so they can live more independently in the future. Like any family home, people we support play an important part in how everything runs, and we empower people with positive risk-taking to enjoy as much independence as possible. You can learn more about our d/Deaf services from the brochure below.

What we offer

A safe and supportive place to call home

Olive Lane is in a small residential area in Halesowen in the West Midlands. The home is wheelchair-accessible and designed to meet the needs of people we support. There are eight bedrooms, all with washbasins, as well as two adapted bathrooms, a shower room and separate toilets.

Everyone comes together to enjoy meals in our large kitchen and dining room, and our team encourages people to develop their cookery skills. Our spacious lounge and large garden are great for relaxing and socialising.

Our team has forged fantastic links with the Halesowen community, so people we support enjoy going to local groups and clubs. There’s a cinema, leisure centre, and pubs and cafés nearby. We’re also close to Merry Hill in Dudley as well as Birmingham city centre, which offers plenty of shopping and leisure options.

Lifestyle

Olive Lane is a supportive home where we like to have fun and empower people we support to achieve their potential. Our team are trained to meet people’s individual support needs. They get to know every person we support extremely well, finding out about their life history, interests and aims before creating a unique package of support that’s designed around the person’s unique needs.

Whatever anyone wants to achieve, we support them to make it happen, whether it’s helping them to develop new daily living skills, making healthy lifestyle choices, or finding rewarding jobs or volunteering opportunities.

We use a variety of communication techniques to suit those we support and work with a person’s family, support network and healthcare professionals to ensure each person receives the care they need in the way they want.
