Thoughtfully designed for independent living

Highfields is a residential home situated in a private residential area close to Swadlincote town centre, near to Valley View. The home offers accommodation and support for up to five adults with profound learning and physical disabilities. Highfields offers a warm and homely environment where our team recognise the needs and wishes of every person supported, whilst at the same time helping them to live amongst a caring community where everyone is valued and respected.

We offer a very high standard of support for everyone, delivered by an experienced and committed team who do everything they can to make people’s lives as rich and fulfilling as possible. We are committed to the people we support and their families, ensuring they are supported, comfortable, safe, and secure in their surroundings. As a team, we strive to go the extra mile in providing care and support – we want to make a real difference.

What we offer

A safe and supportive place

The bungalow-style home is a purpose-built facility with five bedrooms, all of which are decorated to people’s wishes. They are excellently equipped with a range of specialist furniture and include fully automated ceiling hoists to the en-suite bathrooms. Complementing these are additional specialised bathing and showering facilities.

The home has generous-sized lounge and dining spaces, as well as a sensory room which is well equipped with a range of visual, tactile, and other sensory stimulus equipment.

Outside there is a patio area and a wonderful sensory garden, which has a choice of seating areas and is maintained year-round for people’s enjoyment.

Lifestyle

Highfields is a home that is completely committed to offering support that is tailored to someone’s individual needs, as everything we do is person-centred. We also want families’ involvement to be a part of the support we provide. We operate an ‘open hours’ visiting policy, and we encourage family and friends to become a part of our community.

At Highfields, we feel activities are crucial to a person’s wellbeing, and we want everyone to enjoy a rich and fulfilling life whilst at the home. We undertake a wide range of activities providing stimulation and interest for all those we support.

Alongside activities within the home, we also regularly organise trips out for our everyone. We learn what those we support like and what they can do, and we help them to achieve their goals and to build their confidence by enabling a wide range of opportunities to explore.
