About this support setting

Thoughtfully designed for independent living

Harding House is a specialist residential home, without nursing, in Wandsworth, south-west London, that provides 24-hour support to 10 deaf adults. People we support have a range of diverse needs, which may be complex and may include learning and physical disabilities, mental ill-health and low emotional confidence.

The Harding House team is passionate about supporting people to develop the knowledge and skills they need to live as independently as possible. Health and wellbeing are central to a happy and fulfilling life, and we encourage people we support to focus on these areas. Everything the team does puts the person at the heart of their care and support. People we support are included in decision-making and how the home is run.

Lifestyle

The Harding House team is here to enable people we support to make the most of every day, enjoying healthy lifestyle choices, developing cookery or budgeting skills, social skills, or even finding a job or volunteering opportunities if that’s what they want.

The team takes a person-centred approach, which puts each person at the heart of their support. We communicate with each person in the way they prefer and support them to achieve their goals. We also work with people to enhance our support wherever possible.

People we support, along with people from another Achieve Together home nearby, help to run a Deaf Club, which new Harding House members are welcome to join. The club is open to deaf people from the local community and organises outings, workshops and fun activities for people to enjoy.
