About this support setting

Thoughtfully designed for independent living

Coppice and Oakside, two closely connected homes specialising in Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD) support, have a warm, family focused atmosphere and are well known for their festive events. Each year, they hold a summer party outdoors, inviting families, friends, and people supported to enjoy music, entertainment, and lots of tasty food. Other celebrations like birthdays, Halloween, and Christmas are also celebrated, culminating in a big event with sister homes in and around Ilkeston. These gatherings offer everyone a chance to connect and share special moments.

The people living at Coppice and Oakside enjoy activities matching their interests, including ice skating, Christmas market, trips to Roller World, gardening in the greenhouse, and gym visits. The team work across both homes to build strong bonds and offer consistent, person-centred care.

What we offer

A safe and supportive place

Coppice and Oakside are two purpose-built bungalows for adults with learning disabilities, set side by side on one level to offer a safe and accessible living environment. Both bungalows are wheelchair accessible, with wide corridors and large open spaces inside. Coppice has six bedrooms and supports people with PMLD, including people who may be non-verbal, need support with mobility and require full support at mealtimes. Oakside has four bedrooms and offers a more supported living feel, where people can communicate verbally, take part in daily tasks to build personal daily living skills.
