About this home

Clareville House is a residential home supporting adults with autism spectrum conditions, learning disabilities, complex needs, including behaviours that may challenge and/or epilepsy. People are supported with person-centred plans that focus on positive outcomes and aim to help the individual become as independent as possible.

This home provides structured support to ensure each person has the opportunity to access a full range of daytime activities, including the opportunity for employment where possible. Individuals are assisted in positive risk-taking so that they actively increase their confidence and achieve their goals.

What we offer

Clareville House is a detached house on a residential road in Caterham, Surrey. There are ten single bedrooms, three of which are on the first floor, two bathrooms, one shower room, one en suite shower room and a toilet on the ground floor. There are communal areas so people can socialise with others, including a large lounge, spacious dining area, and kitchen area.

There is a large enclosed garden which is very active in the summer months and provides a great space for social and leisure activities.

Clareville is within walking distance to Caterham town centre, which has many shops, restaurants and other community facilities. Purley, Croydon and Redhill are just a short bus or train ride away from where more facilities can be accessed.

Lifestyle

At Clareville there is an ethos of promoting independence as well as a focus on maximising ability around all daily living tasks such as cleaning, laundry, personal care, travel training, money skills and cooking.

People are encouraged to get involved in a range of activities such as trampolining, swimming, cinema trips, sensory rooms, lunches out in the local town and shopping trips.

There are various events at Clareville throughout the year, such as the candyfloss-inspired picnic celebration to raise money for the charity YoungMinds. This involved a candyfloss machine, an egg and spoon race, a sack race and a cake sale. Everyone also wore their own ‘candy floss wigs’, and the day was a great success.
