More about our approach to quality and safeguardingAbout this home
Thoughtfully designed homes for independent living
Our Carmarthenshire Outreach and Community Service team encourage, prompt and support people in the way that they need and want.
The support team provides domiciliary support in people’s own homes and in supported living settings to people with learning disabilities, autism and mental health needs. Within the support available is a specialist Deaf outreach support service which supports Deaf British Sign Language (BSL) Users and deaf or hard-of-hearing people. The team supporting the Deaf service are BSL users, many of whom are Deaf and able to, therefore, provide a positive role model to the people they support.
The team provides holistic, person-centred care and support to a high standard. People have told CIW they are happy with the support they receive. The team know the needs and preferences of people well and are caring, dedicated, respectful and skilled.

What we offer
A safe and supportive place to call home
We work with people in their own homes or in the community – whatever is required to enable them to achieve their aims.
People can make choices about how they spend their day and have clear goals set.
People are supported to attend and participate in several activities, including cinema, arts and crafts, sensory classes, day service, bike-ability, Deaf club and swimming.

We’re not just participants. We’re planners, presenters, and leaders.
Mary, Unity Co-chair

Lifestyle
We believe that being deaf is no barrier to living a full and enriching life. Our team empowers people we support to do daily tasks for themselves as independently as possible, supporting them where and when they need it.
Everything we do is tailored to the people we support – including the way we communicate with them – and if a person needs support with personal care, we can provide that, too.
