Excellent ratings in Care Inspectorate Wales inspection for Phoenix House

The home achieved Excellent ratings for Wellbeing, Care & Support, and Leadership & Management, alongside a Good rating for Environment. Inspectors also identified no areas for improvement.

CIW recognised the positive outcomes being achieved throughout the home, highlighting how people are supported to make choices, take an active role in decisions about their lives and achieve goals that are important to them.

The report praised the strong relationships between team members and the people they support, noting that people feel safe, respected and valued. Inspectors recognised how personalised support, meaningful opportunities and community activities help people develop confidence, maintain independence and enjoy fulfilling lives.

A positive culture

The inspection also highlighted the home’s positive culture and strong leadership.

Inspectors recognised the skilled and dedicated team, robust quality assurance processes and commitment to continuous improvement. The report noted that people consistently benefit from high-quality support delivered by team members who know them well and understand their individual needs.

The home’s environment was praised for being safe, welcoming and personalised, helping people feel comfortable while supporting their independence and wellbeing.
