The award recognises the exceptional commitment, compassion and expertise demonstrated every day by team members supporting adults with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD) and complex health needs.

Vallance Gardens supports seven adults with highly complex needs, including epilepsy, dysphagia, gastrostomy care and specialist postural support requirements. The team provides person-centred support that enables people to live fulfilling, meaningful lives while receiving the highest standards of specialist support.

Ewelina Harding, Registered Manager of Vallance Gardens, shared, “This award belongs to every single person on our team (that includes the community hub!). Every early morning, every late finish, every moment of patience and kindness – that’s what ‘Care Team of the Year’ really means. We come from different backgrounds, speak different languages, and bring different strengths, but we’re united by one thing: making sure the people we support feel safe, valued, and truly at home. I couldn’t be prouder of this team.”

The judges praised Vallance Gardens for its exceptional specialist support, outstanding team culture and commitment to helping people live meaningful lives. Their comments highlighted the team’s expertise in supporting people with complex health needs, the positive outcomes achieved through person-centred approaches and the strong, supportive environment created for both people supported and team members.

“A very team and community focused nomination. Person-centred excellence, empowering people to live full, meaningful lives. Exceptional complex care, enabling people with evolving health needs to remain in the home they love. Outstanding team culture, a supportive environment where people they support and team members thrive.”
