Celebrating Pride Month this June
June marks Pride Month, a time to celebrate LGBTQ+ communities, recognise the progress made towards equality, and reaffirm our commitment to creating an inclusive environment where everyone feels respected, valued and supported.
This year, we are focusing on the power of connection, conversation and community. Throughout June, team members and people we support will have opportunities to learn, share experiences and engage with a range of activities designed to celebrate LGBTQ+ voices and perspectives.
As part of our commitment to celebrating Pride Month and demonstrating our support for LGBTQ+ communities, we will be updating our company logo throughout June to incorporate Pride colours. This visible symbol of support reflects our ongoing commitment to inclusion, equality and belonging, and serves as a reminder that everyone should feel safe, respected and empowered to be themselves.
At the heart of this year’s celebrations is our LGBTQ+ Community Page on our AchieveApp, a dedicated space where team members can connect, access resources, share personal stories and support one another. Whether you are a member of the LGBTQ+ community or an ally, everyone is encouraged to get involved, listen, learn and celebrate together.
Pride Month Events
We have an exciting programme of events taking place throughout June:
4 June – Pride Spotlight
We begin Pride Month by highlighting the experiences and insights of one of our valued Support Workers, Ellis Evans, in a special Pride Spotlight feature.
11 June – Webinar with Fabian Morgan
Join Fabian Morgan, Head of Area Operations, for an engaging and thought-provoking webinar exploring the contributions of LGBTQ+ changemakers across the UK. The session will cover key developments in:
- Legal and policy reform
- Workplace inclusion
- Trans rights
- Culture and media
- Grassroots activism
18 June – David’s Story
David, a person we support, shares his personal journey and experiences as a member of the LGBTQ+ community, offering an opportunity for reflection, understanding and meaningful conversation.
25 June – Guest Speaker: Matthew Page
To conclude our Pride Month programme, identity and intersectionality specialist Matthew Page will lead an inspiring session exploring identity, belonging and the many factors that shape who we are. This promises to be a powerful discussion and one not to miss.
